It's kind of a sad foreshadowing as to how his career would wind up going, but that frustration is easily communicated lyrically, and there are "not many, if any" rappers that could go bar for bar with him back then. He's conceited and cocky and is down to "go to war for 30 years like foreign countries" with anyone who calls him out. It's still worth a listen because Keith is still Keith.
